Eligibility Requirements

To make a valid application for a student visa (Subclass 500), there are certain eligibility requirements that need to be met, these include:

  • Be enrolled in a full-time study program that is registered on the Commonwealth register of institutions and courses for overseas students (CRICOS).
  • Obtain a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Fulfil the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement.
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Health Requirement
  • Character Requirements
  • Proof of sufficient funds: let's be concise here meaning 12 month living cost (this has gone up this year to AUD 24,505 )
  • Statement of Purpose / Personal statement that presents your motivations to pursue a certain course or university. This adds voice to your application.
